On the occasion of 25th November, we at BCAM want to show our firm commitment to gender equality.

The slogan of the Emakunde 2023 (Basque Women's Institute) campaign is "Porn is a school of violence against women" and warns of the danger of leaving the sexual education of young people in the hands of pornography. Preventing violence against women also means that young people should receive quality sex education".

We want to share with you the DECALOGUE FOR GENDER-PERSPECTIVE COMMUNICATION. This Decalogue offers some strategies for better gender-perspective science communication. We hope that as BCAM Members can find in these lines support to write content and increase the presence of women in the media.

Material to organize your activity
Emakumeak Zientzian
  • Making women scientists more visible.
  • Breaking stereotypes.
  • Encourage scientific vocations.
The Emakumeak Zientzian initiative took its first steps in 2017 and has grown and strengthened year after year. In 2016, the United Nations General Assembly decided to proclaim 11 February as the International Day of Women and Girls in Science in order to achieve full and equal access and participation in science for women and girls.

It is in this context that Women in Science was created with specific objectives:

To make the activity of women in science visible, to break with the typically male roles attributed to scientific-technical activities, and to encourage the choice of scientific careers among girls and adolescents.

To this end, it promotes, organizes, develops, presents, and executes a wide-ranging program of activities around 11 February.

On behalf of BCAM, three women collaborate with Emakumeak Zientzian:
  • Jone Renteria
  • Leire Garmendia
  • Cristina Galán

Dulceida and Alba Paul, two of the biggest influencers in Spain, have just launched their podcast.

Another podcast... The podcast world is saturated.

But they are jumping on the bandwagon because they know it is an extraordinary way of connecting with people.

And they know a thing or two about that. Their millions of followers are no coincidence.

Considered visionaries in their industry, they have been able to jump from platform to platform creating community.

Now, today it is launched the fourth season of the 11F Voices podcast.

The FOURTH.

Under the title Is myopia an epidemic?, in the first episode of this season, Dr. Julia Bodas participates in the podcast, one of the winners of our competition Cuéntame 11F.

Thirty-three minutes of science and women from the 11F Initiative to your ear.

From BCAM hope you enjoy it.
Do you want to hear the new episode?
P.S. Actually it would currently be an achievement to reach as many people as Dulceida and Alba Paul, that's why BCAM encourages you to follow the 11F TikTok account.
