| | | A reply about NASS surveys. I am located in Delaware, a state smaller than most midwest counties and we have 3 counties. The northern half of the county is urban and the southern half retains the Ag base. The farming community is small. I was surveyed until about 5 years ago when I decided that USDA should be reporting history, i.e. export sales and stocks only, and not trying to predict the future. I asked to be removed from the survey list (if you do not answer the mailed survey, they call on the phone then send someone to knock on your door). I know another farmer that is surveyed. We are our own worst enemy. When we were surveyed in July and August, and we’re all growing 250 bushel corn and 80 bushel beans, right?! Read More | |
