Flying with Fly Rods

THIS WEEK Spencer Durrant offers advice on rod storage that's tough, roomy, and fits in an airplane's overhead bin.

Be sure to check out our review of the new Sage R8 fly rod: "The R8 is inherently accurate, and is designed to increase the feel and rhythm that is such an integral part of the fly fishing experience."

In this week's featured tying video Tim Flagler ties the Picket Pin. "The Picket Pin was a pattern developed by Jack Boehme of Missoula, Montana, in the early 1900s. Its name comes from the cowboys’ common label for ground squirrels, which looked to them like horse picket pins as they stood on their hind legs on the prairie."
