ACDIS is home to over 6,500 CDI and adjacent professionals who work each and every day at their craft to better their facilities and clinical documentation integrity as a whole. It is our goal to provide each member with the information, resources, tools, and support needed to do just that.

One of the best resources ACDIS members have at their disposal is the ACDIS Leadership team. Between their experience, knowledge, availability, and passion, this group is an unmatched and invaluable benefit for all ACDIS members. We’d like you to get to know each member of our team - what makes them tick, who they are outside of CDI, and what makes them so passionate about this crazy thing we call ACDIS!

What do you do for ACDIS?

"I’ve been with HCPRO for four years and have had to opportunity to work with ACDIS for almost two years now! A lot of my time is dedicated to working with Laurie Prescott on our ACDIS Pocket Guide and ACDIS PRO resources. I am also able to work on all the other CDI related books offered to our members and CDI professionals."

Why is ACDIS important to YOU?

"The best part about being part of ACDIS is sharing in the feeling that we’re all a family. This is true across the ACDIS team, but also the association at large. Each year at the ACDIS conference, not only do we get a chance to connect with so many of you, we also have the opportunity to reunite as a team, and it’s truly an incredible experience."

Why is ACDIS important to CDI professionals?

"I think it’s important to be a part of the ACDIS association because we all desire to belong to something and to be with people who understand us. For those in the CDI sphere, there’s no better place than ACDIS. Belonging to ACDIS means surrounding yourself with people who share the same passion and goals, people who pick you up when you’re down and propel you higher when you achieve. Who wouldn’t want that kind of support?"

Who is Karla when she is not
"ACDISing"?

"While I’m a hopeless romantic and enjoy a good romance novel, you’re also just as likely to find me curled up with a murder mystery. It makes for some whiplash as a reader, that’s for sure. I live for the drama of reality TV. Dogs are my favorite. Send me a picture of your dog and we can be friends, no questions asked. I’m originally from New Hampshire, but I’ve never skied, and I hate the snow. I’ll be getting married three weeks after next year’s ACDIS conference, and of course, my wedding color is (pale) purple."
