GHAZEL AT ISCP AND PRINCETON UNIVERSITY

Mismappings
ISCP | NEW YORK

14 February - 7 April 2017
Opening: Tuesday, 14 February 2017 at 6 pm

A presentation of work by Ghazel, Mismappings is the artist’s first solo exhibition in the United States. Since her 2001 ISCP residency, Ghazel lives in both Paris and Tehran. The exhibition focuses on Ghazel’s recent Marée Noire and Dyslexia series (drawings with ink on printed Farsi maps) that evoke the politics of representation on a geopolitical scale in an era of ongoing ecological and migratory crises.

This program is supported, in part, by The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Greenwich Collection Ltd., New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
