The holiday season is a wonderful time to focus on giving.
We serve as a drop-off for many charitable groups. Consider these easy ways for you and your family to make a difference by donating needed items at Deerfield Park District facilities.
Cradles to Crayons
Cradles to Crayons provides children from birth through age 12, living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essential items they need to thrive. These items are supplied free of charge through donations from engaged communities.
Sachs Recreation Center has a donation bin located along the main hallway. Items can be dropped of at any time during normal hours of operation.
The Rotary Club of Deerfield is collecting coats, hats and gloves until the end of the year through their "Coat Off Your Back" program. Cold weather items can be in new or gently used condition. Hundreds of coats are collected each year and donated to PADS Lake County.
Your donation to the Deerfield Park Foundation provides scholarships to local Deerfield families in financial need so that their child(ren) can participate in Deerfield Park District programs, camps, After-School Club and more.
Our next Foodies Raising Funds fundraiser will be Tuesday, December 7 at Jimmy Thai. When ordering, mention the Deerfield Park Foundation and 25% of your total bill will be donated to the Deerfield Park Foundation.
Donations of clothing and textiles are picked up on an ongoing basis by the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County. Donate items that are New, Gently Used or Worn! This is a full-circle program. Your donations will be reused. Even worn-out/stained items that are received will be turned into usable new products
Drop off your shoe donation at Sachs Recreation Center to keep shoes out of landfills. Shoes can be in any condition. Newer shoes will be donated to those in need. Older shoes will be repurposed and recycled into other useable materials.
