The campaign highlights the positive impact Skateistan is having on the lives of girls in Afghanistan, Cambodia and South Africa. It is in line with the UN's Sustainable Development Goal No. 5, which is focused on gender equality and empowering girls. We believe girls have the right to be safe, play sport, go to school, be confident and become leaders. Through Give Her Five we want to show you how we are providing girls with these opportunities, whilst raising $100,000 to empower more girls around the world! Skate Schools are providing safe spaces for female equality! Over 1600 youth each week are provided with a safe space to skateboard and learn with Skateistan, and half of those are girls. Read the full story on Huck Magazine. How skateboarding is giving girls a path to push! The girls skating at Skateistan use what they learn in the skatepark and the classroom to build confidence, form friendships, and think creatively about their futures. Read the full story on The Skateboard Mag. We're excited to announce the release of the Thunder x Skateistantruck. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of these trucks goes to our programs and Skate Schools, so you can shop (on our store, Thunder and in select skate shops worldwide) to support Skateistan! Thunder team riders Mikey Taylor, Chris Cole, Erik Ellington and Neen Williams all make an appearance in the exclusive edit for the collab, chatting about our work with youth around the world! Take a look. From December 5th-31st, we are asking the public to Give Her Five by donating $5 in a bid to raise $100,000 by December 31st. Donate today to help us reach our target and support girls empowerment! |
