If there ever was a magic bullet when it comes to predicting what authors, titles, genres, and topics will take off internationally, there certainly isn't now. The big, big books of the book fair are few and far between.
 
In addition to the uncertainty of who and what will sell where, more agents are coming onto the scene, representing more authors, yet with fewer resources to nurture them and to market their books to an expanding worldwide marketplace.

Ginger Clark
Ginger Clark has been a literary agent with Curtis Brown, Ltd. since 2005. She represents science fiction, fantasy, paranormal romance, literary horror, and young adult and middle-grade fiction.
 
At Global Kids Connect, Ginger will be moderating the session “Sales and Acquisitions in an Unpredictable Global Marketplace: The Rights Professional’s Perspective.”
 
In addition to representing her own clients, she also represents British rights for Curtis Brown’s children’s list. Previously, she worked at Writers House for six years as an assistant literary agent.
 
Her first job in publishing was as an editorial assistant at Tor Books. She is a graduate of Bryn Mawr College and chair of the Contracts Committee of the Association of Authors’ Representatives (AAR). She lives in Brooklyn with her husband.
