Kidscreen Summit

LGBTQ-inclusive content discussion shapes up to be major event highlight

This just in! GLAAD CEO Sarah Kate Ellis to join heavyweight LGBTQ-inclusive content-makers for what may just be the meatiest discussion of the week at Kidscreen Summit in Miami next month.

Kids and family entertainment is arguably the last part of the entertainment business to include positive portrayals of LGBTQ characters. But the last few years have marked a significant shift in the right direction, with shows like Doc McStuffins, Steven Universe, The Loud House and Andi Mack breaking new ground in the depiction of LGBTQ characters and issues.

This session will thoughtfully address why this shift is happening, how creators and channels are approaching LGBTQ inclusion, and most importantly, how to keep up the momentum.
