GM launches EV charge management business, signs energy storage deal with SunPower

GM is riding the electric vehicle wave with its announcement today of a new business unit called GM Energy, where it will provide bi-directional charging, vehicle-to-home and vehicle-to-grid applications, stationary storage, solar products, software applications, cloud management tools, microgrid solutions, hydrogen fuel cells and more. The services arm will act as an aggregator and sell energy from EV and stationary storage batteries back to utilities during peak demand.
