Unfortunately I couldn’t stay up to watch the game due to the 2 a.m. alarm, but what a treat to grab my phone and see the big “W” for LSU! Max was kind enough to forfeit watching the game to fill in for Mark, great guy! Yucky morning weather wise, so please be careful on the road. We’ve already seen several major accidents. Martinez arrived that morning at the Galleon Contracting lot on New Laredo Highway to find the fence cut and some lumber, a stereo from a Ford Mustang, and a BBQ pit missing. Surveillance cameras caught the suspect in a #24 Dallas Cowboys jersey walking around the lot the night before and even driving off in a pickup truck with the tow-away pit, but it was Martinez’s eyes that caught a vital clue. Trafficking survivor holds seminars to educate, warn community members A San Antonio sex trafficking survivor is using her voice during National Human Trafficking Awareness month by holding a town hall seminar on the subject. Maria Perez was trafficked 32 years ago, but said she still remembers every detail. “I had just lost someone that I dearly loved, so I was vulnerable and I was depressed, so that’s when they engage with you,” she said. On Monday night, she hosted a town hall seminar with members of the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office and District Attorney’s office on hand to offer information and take questions. Man showing off new gun injures 2 accidentally, police say A man showing off his new gun injured two people when it accidentally went off, San Antonio police said Tuesday. The incident occurred around 9:40 p.m. at the La Quinta Inn in the 6500 block of West Military Drive, not far from Highway 90 on the city’s West Side. According to police, the man had arrived at the hotel to give a couple a ride. That’s when, police said, the man was showing off the new gun when it went off, grazing a woman in the hand and hitting the man in both the hand and leg. What’s Trending Two Taco Cabana locations closing in San Antonio Bad news for Taco Cabana fans - San Antonio is losing two of its restaurants. The Fiesta Restaurant Group, Inc. parent company of the Pollo Tropical and Taco Cabana, made the announcement Monday. A total of 19 Taco Cabana restaurants in Texas will close, effective immediately, according to the Fiesta Restaurant Group. However, nearly all employees impacted by the closures will be offered positions at other Taco Cabana locations. You can get free nuggets at Chick-fil-A this month If you’re a fan of Chick-fil-A chicken nuggets, you’re in luck! The restaurant is giving out free nuggets through the month of January as a way to say “thank you” to customers. Any guest who creates or signs in to Chick-fil-A’s One account through the restaurant’s mobile app will receive a free order of eight-count chicken nuggets. Customers can redeem the offer between Jan. 13 - Jan. 31 either in-store, in the drive-thru or through a mobile order on the app. LSU beats Clemson 42-25, wins 4th national title in school history A dream season for LSU and senior quarterback Joe Burrow ended in the most appropriate way possible Monday: By winning a national championship in their home state.
