Local company helps set record for world's largest ball of lint Some of the lint used to create the world's largest ball of lint was harvested in San Antonio. Dryer Vent Wizard, a dryer maintenance and repair company, collected dryer lint from more than 9,000 communities including ours to set the Guinness World Records title. The lint was combined to make a ball that weighed 690 pounds. It was 19 feet, 6 inches in circumference, and 4 feet, 4 inches in height.  Woman says she wasn't allowed to enter courthouse because she was wearing a dress  The city of South Houston municipal court dress code is clear. The rules are written in red on the entrance door: "No shorts, no tank tops, no food, no drinks, no chewing gum in the courtroom. That's why Crystal Winters said she was thrown off when she went to the courthouse to pay her traffic ticket. She said she wasn't allowed inside because she was wearing a dress. Today's Headlines 'Robbing Peter to pay Paul': Internal memo shows impact of deputy overtime on sheriff's budget Surging deputy overtime caused nearly a dozen Bexar County Sheriff's Office accounts into negative figures this summer, according to an internal memo obtained by the KSAT 12 Defenders. The June 3 memo, written by BCSO business manager Manuel Angeles, shows 10 accounts in the agency's technology fund had already gone over budget with four months left in the county's fiscal year. Friends banding together in support of woman with brain injury Friends of a woman who is fighting to stay alive after suffering a severe brain injury from an accident are banding together to support her and her family. Friends said Elizabeth Garcia, 47, was leaving work when she missed her turn and drove off the roadway near Loop 410 and Seguin Road. "Unfortunately, she wasn't wearing her seat belt and got ejected from the car and got pinned between the car and railroad tracks," said Alvino Cuevas, one of Garcia's close friends. "When we found out about the accident, it was a tragic day. We were shocked because we just saw her two days before." Did Leon Valley city leaders violate the law? LVPD wants to know. The Leon Valley police chief has requested an outside agency look at some private emails between several city board members, two active City Council members and the mayor to determine if any laws were broken. In a letter sent to the Texas Rangers, Police Chief Joe Salvaggio detailed concerns about discussions sent through private emails and says the emails were not turned over as required by law.
