We hope you had a good day off with your families (if you were off). We worked, but then Leslie was poolside later Monday. I headed home and fired up my new grill/smoker with steaks and one of the best roasted chickens I’ve ever made. I hope to get a brisket on there soon...cooking low and slow. My new hobby is, well, delicious.

Leslie is counting the days till a long-planned vacation to Hawaii beginning Friday. I’m 66 days away from a birthday trip to London. Not that I’m counting the days myself.

Willie Nelson releases new music video dedicated to his rescue horses

Willie Nelson released a new music video for his song Ride Me Back Home. The official YouTube page for the country music star touts the video as a mini music documentary. The video was filmed at Luck Ranch, Nelson's personal ranch where over 70 rescue horses roam free. He said he calls his ranch Luck because, "When you’re here, you're in Luck, and when you're not, you're out of Luck."

Man shot in leg during argument at West Side home

A local man was taken to an area hospital after he was shot during an argument at a home on the city's West Side overnight. The shooting was reported just before 1 a.m. at a home in the 6000 block of Topcroft Drive, not far from Callaghan Road and Culebra Road.
