Spurs holding free Silver & Black scrimmage Thursday at AT&T Center Fans of the San Antonio Spurs will soon get their first look at the 2019-2020 squad. The Spurs' annual Silver & Black Open Scrimmage takes place Thursday at 7 p.m. at the AT&T Center. The free event features an intra-squad scrimmage prior to the Spurs regular-season home opener on Oct. 23. The scrimmage is free and seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m. Parking is also free. Blue Bell recalls a batch of its 'Butter Crunch Ice Cream' Time to check your freezers and make sure you don't have the latest product that is being recalled. Blue Bell Creameries issued a voluntary recall for half gallons of their 'Butter Crunch Ice Cream' due to the possibility of a foreign object in the product, the company announced. A consumer found a piece of a plastic tool inside their ice cream and contacted Blue Bell, according to the press release. The plastic was from a broken tool that was "inadvertently incorporated" during production, the company said. Today's Headlines Two dead, one man shot in face after argument leads to shooting on East Side, police say Two people are dead and one person was taken to the hospital after an argument led to a shooting on the city's East Side, San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said. The shooting happened just before 8 p.m. in the 4500 block of Lakewood Drive, just west of Loop 410. McManus said two men were arguing in a parking lot with another man, which then led to an exchange of gunfire. Michelle Barrientes Vela wishes replacement well, doubles down on sheriff's campaign Former Bexar County Precinct 2 Constable Michelle Barrientes Vela said she is moving forward with plans to run for Bexar County Sheriff after she lost her legal battle Wednesday to keep her job. "Today, we'll move forward together to take our voice back. We will continue strong leadership with values that will impact our county. I humbly ask for the continued support of all the constituents of Bexar County, as we move forward to seek the office of Bexar County sheriff," she told reporters. Parties reach proposed agreement to fix Lake Dunlap dam Lake Dunlap residents could get their waterside view back in just a few years, but it will cost them more property taxes. It's been 149 days since the Lake Dunlap dam broke. Since then, the Preserve Lake Dunlap Association, which represents more than 600 property owners, has been working out a plan to get the dam fixed.
