Good morning from the GMSA anchor desk! It was sure nice to see (or rather hear) rain last night. David apparently didn’t sleep well last night, that’s never fun when you have a 2 a.m. wake up and your job is to wake up a city with a smile. And, the crazy man doesn’t drink coffee!! I couldn’t survive this shift without coffee. I actually bring an entire thermos to work! Little known fact, Det. Dart’s wife makes his coffee every morning and adds a touch of cinnamon. So sweet. He is an Operator 3 for TransGuide, an intelligent traffic monitoring system created by the local sector of the Texas Department of Transportation. With the use of a series of templates, he creates the messages that appear on lighted signs along the local highways, warning drivers about closures, congestion or construction. Enjoy free Slurpee at Stripes on 7-Eleven Day Stripes is celebrating 7-Eleven Day by giving away free small Slurpee drinks at participating locations. 7-Eleven celebrates its birthday every year with the small Slurpee giveaway, and now Stripes customers are can enjoy a frozen treat on the company's birthday as well.  Today's Headlines Fired BCSO detention deputy arrested on assault charges, Sheriff's Office says Bexar County Sheriff’s Office deputies with the Fugitive Apprehension Unit arrested a previously terminated detention deputy on an arrest warrant for assault bodily injury. Deputies arrested Raynell Ishman, 26, around 9:21 p.m. Wednesday. The Sheriff’s Office said the charges stem from an incident that happened in September 2017 when Ishman assaulted an inmate who was in custody at the Bexar County Jail. Family members shed light on abusive relationship missing woman endured before being found dead The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office released the cause of death for Jessica Sanchez and her ex-boyfriend and suspected kidnapper, Jorge Jaramillo. Devine police said the ME's office has told them both Sanchez and Jaramillo were shot. They did not have an official manner of death yet, but the case is being investigated as a murder-suicide. Both bodies were found Tuesday in Medina County. Two Kendall County deputies remembered during community prayer vigil Two Kendall County Sheriff’s Office deputies gone in one week but not forgotten. A community-wide prayer vigil was dedicated to fallen Deputy Carlos Ramirez, who was killed in the line of duty, and Sgt. Matthew Johnson, who lost his battle with colon cancer. The prayer vigil, organized by Angels All around You Military Ministry, brought out family, friends and loved ones of the deputies.
