Kiernan Christopher Williams, 19, was taken into custody Monday at an address off of Zarzamora Street, Police Chief William McManus confirmed. Williams is accused of opening fire at the bar, located at 1011 Avenue B on the River Walk along the Museum Reach. The shooting led to the deaths of Robert Martinez, 21, and Alejandro Robles, 25. Five others were shot, including four teenage males ranging in age from 16 to 19 and a 46-year-old woman. The five victims are expected to recover. River Walk club shooting victim remembered as man dedicated to family, friends Alejandro “Alex” Robles leaves behind a wife and 5-year-old son and long list of family and friends who describe him as a "giving person.” The 25-year old was at the Ventura Club Sunday to support a performer and long-time family friend, says his father James Huff. “Their son was performing. And so he went with that family in support of his performance,” Huff said. Robles was shot in the back. The mother of the performer they were there to see was also shot and injured, according to Huff. Huff says his son was raised to be a blessing to other people and that’s how they’ll remember him. The arrest of the former San Angelo police chief has sent shockwaves to San Antonio, as the communications company at the center of that federal indictment currently holds the public-safety radio contracts for both the City of San Antonio and Bexar County. Timothy Ray Vasquez, 49, was charged Friday with bribery and honest services mail fraud, according to the United States Department of Justice. Vasquez, who served as the chief of the San Angelo Police Department from 2004 to 2016, is accused of funneling $130,000 to himself through checks made out to his band, “Funky Munky.” Vasquez’s band was provided the money in exchange for Vasquez pushing city officials to twice award its public-safety radio system to a company named in the indictment as “Vendor 1,” according to the Department of Justice. Those contracts were worth over $11 million. Jubilee, a 4-year-old female pup, has an eyelid deformity that makes it appear as if she’s always surprised. A breeder gave her to Husky House in 2018, telling the nonprofit shelter in Matawan that Jubilee couldn’t be sold because she was too “weird” looking. Despite the congenital issue with her eyelids, Jubilee doesn’t suffer from any other health issues. But for the past two years, Jubilee has struggled to find a loving family to care for her. Husky House took to Facebook with a heartbreaking doggy plea for her adoption. More than 150 people applied to adopt Jubilee, the Husky House representative told CNN. But as a court of President Donald Trump’s impeachment, the Senate beginning Tuesday might seem more like the economy cabin of an oversold flight on an especially tense, mandatory work trip. Here’s what to watch — and whom — when the trial gets underway around 1 p.m. EST Tuesday: Spurs cough up big lead, recover for 120-118 win over Suns Derrick White scored a season-high 25 points, Bryn Forbes added 24 and the San Antonio Spurs coughed up a 20-point lead in the second half before rallying to beat the Phoenix Suns 120-118 on Monday night. San Antonio led 78-58 midway through the third quarter and 96-83 going into the fourth, but Phoenix chipped away. Suns center Deandre Ayton made two free throws with 3:55 left that tied it 108-all. Ricky Rubio hit a layup while drawing a foul, adding the free throw to push the Suns ahead for the first time at 113-111 with 2:55 left. Forbes hit his eighth 3-pointer with 2:33 remaining to put the Spurs back up 114-113. Who doesn’t love a PARADE?! Kick off the 2020 San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo season with KSAT12.
