We're all back! Mike has returned to work after taking his oldest son on a tour of Texas A&M in College Station. They were impressed! I'm back after meeting up with my son and visiting my parents in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was a wonderful, relaxing visit. It was so nice to see leaves that have already turned bright red! The auction will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Growden Pound, located at 3625 Growden Road. People can pay by cash or credit card, other than American Express. Today's Headlines Wife of man accused of killing club-wielding man in self-defense recounts what led up to shooting The wife of a man who was taken into San Antonio police custody after he shot and killed a man in what the couple says was self-defense is detailing what led to the shooting. The shooting happened in the 1900 block of Northwest 19th Street. Elaine Casillas said it started from a rude awakening. Casillas said the man who showed up was the stepfather of a 21-year-old man her daughter was dating. She said the two families have a strained relationship. San Antonio police said the man was going to pick up his stepson. Memorial service Wednesday for fallen firefighter Greg Garza The public will be able to pay their respects to fallen San Antonio firefighter Greg Garza on Wednesday. A memorial service will be held at Porter Loring Mortuary on McCullough Road. A private visitation will first be held from 3-5 p.m. followed by the public visitation from 5-6:30 p.m. A prayer vigil will be at 7 p.m. Garza, a 17-year SAFD veteran, died last week while he and other firefighters responded to a call at the Comfort Suites on the East Side. SAPD: Bicyclist in critical condition after being stabbed on West Side San Antonio police are investigating after a bicyclist was stabbed on the city's West Side overnight. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. near Castroville Road and Cupples Road. According to police, the victim was riding his bike when someone attacked him.
