Hello, A Chorley mother of five who had trouble paying for her fortnightly Asda shop had help in the form of two guardian angels behind her in the queue who used part of their £500 scratch card winnings to help. Beth Jones, 26, from Adlington, was with two of her sons in the Asda supermarket in Chorley on Bolton Street when the £50 she had on her health card voucher – an NHS scheme that helps women who are pregnant or have young children and are receiving benefits, buy foods such as milk or fruit - failed to deduct from her food bill of £220. However, as luck would have it, two ladies in the queue behind the full-time mum who had won £500 on a scratch card decided to use their winnings to pay for all of her shopping. It’s nice to know there’s some good people out there. Elsewhere, there’s the latest Preston weather forecast as things hot up and a look at eight businesses currently on the market in the city that could be just the opportunity you’re looking for. Finally, we’ve also got the latest on PNE forward Finlay Cross-Adair who has appeared in court on assault and stalking charges. Thanks for reading, Adam adam.lord@nationalworld.com | |
