Goodbye 2017 Hello 2018

The new year is almost here, 2017 is coming to an end and 2018 is quickly approaching! We had such a great year with all of our member events from enjoying the smooth ride on the new cart paths on the Creek nine, to the new dining furniture out on the Terrace patio.

We'd like to remind everyone that the Clubhouse will be closed tomorrow Friday, December 22 for a private holiday party as well as Sunday, December 24 - Tuesday, December 26. We will reopen for regular hours on Wednesday, December 27. We will then close for the New Year on Sunday, December 31 - Tuesday, January 2 and reopen on Wednesday, January 3.

CHAMPAGNE COCKTAILS

Josh would like to share some delicious New Years drink recipes for those who don't love champagne.

Still want the bubbles but don't love the taste? Put that extra pop of flavor in your classic champagne by adding 1oz. Chambord Raspberry Liquor or 1oz. St. Germain Elders Flower.

Josh's New Years Sangria is a great way to wow your guests! He suggests using Champagne and 1oz. of Brandy as a solid base for your sangria. Add sugar or simple syrup and don't forget those red fruits, steer clear of lemons and limes to avoid that bitter taste.

FROM THE GOLF SHOP

As we settle into the winter months we are still keeping at it in the golf shop. We are finalizing dates for all member golf events. Keep your eyes open for an email with those event dates listed to come. Vendors are starting to showcase merchandise for the 2018 season. A game plan is being put in place to present you with the hottest equipment and best looking clothing out there.

Lastly, as we enter January you will see a more detailed email with plans for our winter hitting area. With the addition of our GC Quad launch monitor this year we are able to transform it to indoor use as a simulator practice tool. This will be a great way for you to stop out to the club and hit some balls to keep your game sharp. Look for more details to come!

GOLF COURSE UPDATES

The unusually warm and dry late fall weather has allowed us to complete some bonus projects we typically don’t have time for during the season. The maintenance staff has been busy with tree work, bridge improvements between 3 and 4 Creek, building a new ladies tee on 5 Creek, and several drainage issues on 4,5,6 Creek and 1, 2 Ridge. The dry conditions have proven ideal for installing drainage tile in areas that have been problematic in the past. The lack of rainfall and soil moisture made an otherwise messy project go much smoother.

Whenever we have an opportunity to make improvements to the golf course, we are eager to do so. That being said, it can rain or snow any day now, because we could really use the moisture.
