Good morning Marketer, could voice technology give new meaning to contactless payments?

Google Assistant is out with a new feature that allows users to “confirm with voice match” to make purchases online. The feature is seemingly available on both iPhone and Android devices, though exact details about how and where it can be used are still fuzzy – indicating this is still experimental. However, the support page touts the ability to “make purchases with your Google Assistant, like in-app purchases,” for example. There are certainly many scenarios in which voice match purchasing could be useful. We’ll have to see how Google rolls this out.

The three largest players in ID resolution are Experian, LiveRamp and Oracle.

“LiveRamp was one of the few identity resolution companies that was aggressive on the M&A front in 2019,” writes Karen Burka, offering a snapshot on the who’s who in identity resolution platforms. Facebook Shops is just one example of a product coming to market much faster than originally planned due to the effects of coronavirus restrictions. Guests Litterst of Adsventure.de and Gil David of Run DMG both said the past month has been better than Black Friday for many e-commerce clients, and they expect to see lasting effects of changes to consumer behavior.

As for Facebook Shops, both see only an upside for businesses and an edge for early adopters. Watch the full episode here
