Like most events this year, Google I/O is going virtual (again) in 2021.

Am I shocked that it's a virtual event again this year? No. Do I want to know what you're hoping to see and/or hear from Google? Absolutely I do.

Personally, I won't be as eager to see the new Pixel phones (if any) since I bought an iPhone earlier this year. But I'm still looking forward to seeing what the next version of Android looks like. Google’s I/O developer event is returning this year after being canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and like many other tech events that have taken place during the pandemic, it will be entirely virtual. The event will take place from May 18th–20th and will be free to attend, according to 9to5Google, which revealed the date after solving Google’s cryptic I/O puzzle.
During Altitude 2020, our director of product strategy Peter Bilali explained that this new product offering helps IT know the SaaS environment.
