Greetings!

📰 I hope you're having a great weekend. It's scorching hot here in Los Angeles so I'm thankful for air conditioning. Instead of going to the beach this weekend, we went to the Sloomoo Institute, which just opened today. It's billed as America’s #1 slime museum and there are multiple locations across the country. My kids loved it and you can see some photos on my Instagram Story

Is Instagram-famous Quince worth all the hype? I had to check it out for myself

My wife Natalie, who is our editor and who I met on a press trip while she was working as a digital editor for a large Canadian magazine, is great at unearthing deals most of us would miss. Her latest find is a company that sells luggage, travel accessories, clothing, home items and more that rival many luxury brands but at a fraction of the cost. The company's founder mused: "Why is it the five nights a year we spend in a really nice hotel, we have better sheets and better towels than the 360 nights at home?’” And so he set out to change that. Here's what you need to know.

Flight attendant says friend was banned from American Airlines for ‘skiplagging’

If you’ve ever seen me speak at a conference or if you receive my free newsletter, then you probably know what skiplagging is all about. A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a post titled: It’s not too early to start booking your holiday travel: 10 tips for finding cheap flights in 2024 and in it, I give 10 tips for finding cheap flights and one of them is about skiplagging, otherwise known as ‘the hidden city trick.’ As I mention in the post, the airlines really do not like this at all and if you do it often or make it blatantly obvious, they will catch you and may make you pay the higher fare, take away your miles or, according to a flight attendant, ban you. Here's her video and story

Video shows snorkeler getting tossed in the air by humpback whale: ‘The most insane thing I’ve ever experienced in my life’

You see a lot of crazy things on the internet, especially when it comes to animals. Imagine what happened before the invention of smartphones, GoPros and the internet? If someone said they got tossed in the air by a humpback whale, no one would ever believe them. Here's the video.

And if you’ve ever flown to South America, especially to Brazil, then you know the check-in lines can be long because many travelers are carting huge loads of luggage and goods. Well, what this person tried to check is something I'm sure you've never seen before. Here's the video.

Emperor penguin chicks seen cliff diving on camera for first time

Here's something I bet you've never seen! The funniest comment is this: "Well no one else has said it so... This reminds me of my dad saying if one of your friends jumped off a bridge would you do it too? And the answer is yeah!" Here's the incredible video and story

Hot air balloon glow in Colorado Springs last night

Hot air balloons are amazing, especially in the morning at sunrise when the sky is still dark. One of my all-time greatest travel experiences was doing a hot air balloon safari in Tanzania (and South Africa). Here's a quick video of last night's beautiful balloon glow in Colorado!
