Hidden gem: A woman’s kitchen decor makes her rich overnight

How long have you had your kitchen decorations? Whether it’s a rooster sculpture, a wooden cow, a bowl of plastic fruit or a painting, we all have ways of sprucing up our cooking space. But one French woman’s kitchen decoration ended up being so much more important — historical, in fact. An auctioneer visiting the woman’s home spotted the painting hanging on her kitchen wall. When he looked closer, he was stunned to find the hallmarks of one of the Renaissance's most important artists. After having it appraised by art experts, the auctioneer confirmed his suspicions. The 10-inch painting sold for $26 million, and luckily, the woman will be taking home most of the cash. Anyone else ready to raid the garage for treasures to auction?

Paintings aren’t the only high earners at auctions. Some musical instruments sell for millions!
