Android Police | Google appears to be tired of the endless cycle of leaks and speculation when it comes to the Pixel 4. The company today has published a blog post and video showing off the upcoming phone's facial recognition tech, as well as gesture controls. We also get a tearaway view of the top of the Pixel 4 showing what that gap in previous leaks was for—a lot of things, it turns out.
BetterCloud Monitor | A recent post in our BetterIT community got us thinking here at BetterCloud: How could we get our users scheduled offboarding without the use of Okta or Zapier, sticking only with Google and BetterCloud? In today’s Product Tip Tuesday, we’re providing instructions on how you can set up offboarding via a Google Sheet, an Apps Script, and BetterCloud. This allows IT admins to set an employee’s last day as their offboard day, specifying down to the hour when offboarding should occur.
Markets Insider | Deutsche Bank has launched a probe into whether there was a potential data leak after roughly 50 former employees still had access to their emails despite being dismissed weeks ago, reports the Financial Times. (This isn't the first time that this kind of mistake has made the news recently. Properly offboarding users can be a challenge, but BetterCloud can help. Check out our eBook, 18 Commonly Overlooked Offboarding Steps.)
The Register | Scanning of random ports and the use of encrypted malware by online criminals is on the rise, according to a threat report by Sonicwall.
How-To Geek | Chrome 76 hits the stable channel today. This latest release brings some serious changes to the web. Flash is now disabled by default, and websites won’t be able to detect whether you’re using incognito mode.
MakeUseOf | No matter your operating system of choice, external hard drives can be extremely handy. Whether you need to move a few files to another system or want to do a quick backup, it can never hurt to have a few of them around. Of course, an external hard drive is only convenient when you can actually use it. If a hard drive is locked on your Mac, you can’t put it to any use. Fortunately, this isn’t often a major problem, and more often than not, it’s simple to solve.
SAASupdate
G Suite Updates | On October 30, 2019, Google will begin removing the setting to “Enforce access to less secure apps for all users” from the Google Admin console. This setting should disappear from your Admin console by the end of year. If the “Enforce access to less secure apps for all users” setting is selected for your domain when this change takes place, we’ll automatically select “Allow users to manage their access to less secure apps” instead. You’ll no longer have the option to enforce access to LSAs at the domain level.
