The chair of the Republican Party of Minnesota apologized Thursday for an image that was projected at the party's state convention of George Soros manipulating the strings of puppets with the faces of two prominent Jewish Democrats.

Republican Party Chair David Hann said in a statement that after speaking to staff at the Jewish Community Relations Council of Minnesota and the Dakotas, the party understands concerns that the imagery perpetuated an anti-Semitic trope.

Poll: Two-thirds say don't overturn Roe; the court leak is firing up Democratic voters

About two-thirds of Americans say they do not support overturning Roe v. Wade, the landmark Supreme Court decision that made abortion legal in the United States, according to the latest NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll. Seven-in-10 U.S. adults, however, say they are in favor of some degree of restrictions on abortion rights. That includes 52 percent of Democrats.
 
Tornado watch until 10 pm for southern Minnesota, just south of Twin Cities area

NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center has issued a tornado watch until 10 pm for a large part of southern Minnesota and northern Iowa. A warm front across the Minnesota-Iowa border will be the focus for severe storms that will likely produce large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes through this evening.

Minnesota State Patrol co-pilot hurt after duck hits helicopter

The State Patrol says the helicopter was dispatched on a law enforcement call to Wabasha County. As it was returning to St. Paul shortly after 10 p.m., the aircraft hit what the patrol said was a duck, which smashed through the left side windshield and hit the co-pilot.
