BY VICKI FERSTEL | Staff writer Louisiana’s Mike Johnson, R-Benton, and Steve Scalise, the Jefferson Parish Republican, made the rounds of the Sunday morning national TV news shows in advance of the GOP national convention starting today. Johnson, the Speaker of the House, and Scalise, the House Majority Whip, were among those calling for calm in the wake of the assassination attempt on Donald Trump. Trucker Reginald Walton had just rolled his 18-wheeler into Louisiana from Texas when he spotted what looked like a discarded baby doll on the side of Interstate 10. Then he saw it move.
