Bread salads are very simple affairs. It's a quick meal and a handy use for that bread that's past its prime.

Load cubes of toasted bread on a plate, top it with salad fixings, drizzle it with a vinaigrette or oil and vinegar and top it with cheese.
Bread salads are best if the bread is not soggy. So serve them immediately after assembly.
While many bread salads are made with bread that is not toasted, especially stale bread, we prefer toasted.
You can either toast the bread in a toaster or cut it into cubes and toast it in a toaster oven or in the oven at 300 degrees.
