Tax overhaul: After two weeks of wrangling, the Legislature has signed off on a state revenue overhaul that will see income taxes drop, sales taxes rise and a tax on corporate assets disappear. It was a political victory for Gov. Jeff Landry, though some parts of his proposal didn't survive the process. Tyler Bridges explains.
Homeless sweep to resume: Authorities have begun notifying homeless residents in parts of the French Quarter that they have 24 hours to leave or be relocated to a designated encampment under the overpass near Calliope Street in the coming days, reigniting a fight with city leaders who say the last sweep delayed their efforts to find people homes. French Quarter killing: Technology has played a major role in the police response to a French Quarter shooting that killed one and wounded three others, with surveillance videos leading to one arrest and the identification of two other suspects. But another technology key to law enforcement — ankle monitors — appears to have failed the system, leading to criticism of an Orleans Parish judge. Gabriella Killett has the story.
