County on course to hit target for getting Covid-19 jab for the oldest residents
View email online | | | | | Jan 29, 2021 | | | | | | Good evening If you are currently in the process of moving house, this is probably a very stressful time. Not only are you having to cope with all the usual pressures of switching homes, you are doing it under the restrictions that Covid-19 has placed on all of our lives. But at least you are saving money on stamp duty ... aren’t you? When the Government announced the stamp duty ‘holiday’ last year, March 31 seemed a very long way away. There was plenty of time to sell your own house and look for another, sort the conveyancing, complete and then look forward to the move itself. But now, as the deadline looms, there are people who are facing a bill of thousands of pounds they had not anticipated. Because solicitors and conveyancers are so snowed under with work they are struggling to ensure that everyone will complete their moves on time. And that is why we are calling on the Government to extend the stamp duty holiday. Not only will it relieve the immediate pressure, it will also help get the economy moving again when restrictions are finally lifted.
