Governor asks for new nursing home visitation guidelines

Gov. Henry McMaster requested that DHEC release guidelines allowing nursing home and assisted living visitation after restricting access since March 13 during the COVID-19 pandemic.

S.C. Supreme Court agrees to hear SAFE grant case

The dispute over Gov. Henry McMaster’s private school grant program will be heard by state Supreme Court justices on Sept. 18. An Orangeburg judge halted the grants, which would aid private school tuition payment, on July 22.

S.C. loses 500 construction jobs from June to July 

Twenty-six states saw drops in construction employment month-to-month, while 39 have experienced year-to-year declines, according to an analysis of federal data. S.C. had 106,900 construction jobs in July.

Department of Defense contract for F-16 jets finalized

The Department of Defense has announced a $62 billion, 10-year contract with Lockheed for the production of 90 F-16 fighter jets to be built at the aerospace company's Greenville location. The jets are bound for allied nations unnamed in a news release.
