Governor bans late-night alcohol sales during emergency

The sale of alcoholic beverages after 11 p.m. in S.C. bars and restaurants, starting Saturday night. Gov. Henry McMaster said the measure is aimed at young adults “who are rapidly contracting the virus."

Greenville angel investor group matches 2019 investments

Despite financial uncertainty brought on by a global pandemic, Greenville-based angel investor firm VentureSouth helped finance 17 startups with a total of $4 million in investments since the beginning of 2020.

Grant and local investment garner Greenlink buses by 2023

Greenlink plans to extend ridership hours and its electric bus fleet with six battery-electric Synterra vehicles purchased through a federal grant and $1 million in matched local funding. The delivery of the 35-foot buses is expected to coincide with the completion of Greenlink’s maintenance facility project.

Nonprofit reimbursement bill reaches White House

A bipartisan nonprofit unemployment reimbursement bill introduced by Sen. Tim Scott was passed by the U.S. House of Representatives Thursday and is bound for White House approval. 

Nephron investing $215.8 million in expansion

The expansion will add production and office space, along with a warehouse, to the pharmaceutical company’s Lexington County operations. It is expected to be completed early next year and to create 380 jobs.
