Endymion still mum on Mel Gibson selection: One day after nixing controversial actor and director Mel Gibson as co-grand marshal of the Endymion parade, the super krewe went a little further on Monday by saying it will "do better in the future." Still, krewe President Dan Kelly didn't offer any details on how the decision was made and what could be done differently, nor did he substantiate the threats the organization cited Sunday as a reason for changing course. Jury selection underway in First NBC trial: A jury was seated Monday for the fraud trial of First NBC Bank founder Ashton Ryan, Jr. Ryan, who ran the bank up through its 2017 collapse, is accused of making bad loans to enrich himself and others.
