Govt estimates boost to public transport from free trips, amid ongoing ticket troubles

If you're catching the bus or tram to work today, your ride is going to be free - even if you do have a vehicle with a working ticketing system. The government is trumpeting the start of its fare-free Fridays and has given Jasper Lindell its estimation of how many more people were on our trams and buses when they were free over recent months.

The government's also quite happy to tell Lanie Tindale about a boost to ACT emergency department figures, which it says makes our hospitals among the best in the country. Of course, the new figures also show elective surgery times are still long.
