If you’ve spent a good proportion of the last year walking around the local area, finding unique views and enjoying the greenspaces London has to offer, then you’ll want to keep this new spot on your radar. We say spot, it might look like one from above, but it’s a mound. A big one too. Just off Marble Arch, practically connecting Oxford Street and Hyde Park, the 25-metre tall mound was commissioned by Westminster City Council, as a temporary installation sharing the council’s vision of a Greener Smarter Future Together. And it opens on July 26!

At the mound, you can climb the winding path to the top, where there’s a viewing deck offering 360-degrees views down Oxford Street and into Hyde Park, which will make for a sight that’s never been seen before. Rows of shops on one end, and even more rows of trees on the other. Instagram will not know what’s going on. There’s 134 steps from bottom to top, but there’s also lift access.

On the ascent you’ll wind your way down to a hollowed out section (it’s London, of course the space is being maximised) and in the centre of the mound will be a spectacular art exhibition, M&S food and drink options, and a shop to enjoy. From there, you could stroll about Hyde Park or fill your shopping bags on Oxford Street.

To get there, head to Marble Arch and simply look for the massive mound right next door. You’ll find it, trust us.

Tickets start from £4.50.

*The Marble Arch Mound is a part of Westminster’s summer programme of activity which encompasses arts, culture, entertainment and community like never before, with a campaign and more exciting activations to be revealed soon.
