We're in the peak season for Dynasty Fantasy Football trades, making it the perfect time to trade 2024 rookie picks and rookies themselves. While exciting, trading now comes with risks, especially for veterans with uncertain futures beyond 2024. |
Heath Cummings recently organized a Dynasty Fantasy Football mailbag, analyzing six trades sent to him via social media using his trade charts. For his breakdown of all six trades, check out his Dynasty Football mailbag featuring Heath's grades for trades. |
Our FFT team also participated in a Superflex mock draft, which served as an interesting case study for where the rookie quarterbacks would be selected. Only one manager went QB-QB, while others elected to go WR-WR. Regardless of which position our managers took early on, there was seemingly enough talent for everyone to walk away pleased with their draft haul. For the full mock draft recap, give Jamey Eisenberg's Superflex mock draft recap a read. |
Along with the NFL schedule release came Dave Richard's Fantasy Football 2024 NFL schedule strategy article. In this piece, he provides insight on how to deal with bye weeks. Dave also pinpoints advantageous aspects of the Bengals, Packers, and Chargers respective schedule. To get a better handle on how to navigate this upcoming season, be sure to review Dave's Fantasy Football 2024 NFL schedule strategy guide. |

Dynasty Mailbag: Grading your trades |
Heath Cummings utilized his updated trade chart to evaluate trades sent in via social media for the Dynasty Fantasy Football mailbag. These trades encompassed rookie picks and established veterans. Heath advises caution when trading for veterans with uncertain futures like Aaron Rodgers or Christian McCaffrey, recommending postponing such deals until October to minimize risks. |
|
Despite this, one Dynasty manager traded Saquon Barkley for picks 1.09 and 2.01 before October. Given Barkley's potential value decline, Heath rated this trade a B-Plus. In Superflex or 10-team leagues, it would've received an A. To see the remainder of Heath's grades on Dynasty trades, be sure to give his latest piece a read. |

Superflex Mock Draft Recap |
In our Superflex mock draft, 12 participants from our FFT team gauged quarterback versus wide receiver value. Jamey Eisenberg's recap noted Dave Richard's unique QB-QB strategy, selecting Patrick Mahomes No. 1 and then Jordan Love. Two others favored wide receivers early, while Thomas Shafer took Christian McCaffrey in Round 1 and Puka Nacua in Round 2. |
|
What was surprising in this draft is just how far the rookie quarterbacks managed to slide. Despite Caleb Williams' immense talent and the weapons the Chicago Bears have placed around him, he lasted until the first pick of Round 4 and was the 15th quarterback off the board. Jayden Daniels went two picks later while J.J. McCarthy lasted until Round 8. Drake Maye fell to Round 11, while Bo Nix wasn't selected until Round 12. |
Sleeper Alert: One player I'm excited about that I was surprised to see selected in this mock draft was Tyrone Tracy Jr. Tracy has the potential to be an excellent receiving back early in his career while he develops as a runner. He showcases natural hands thanks to the four years he spent at Iowa as a wide receiver. He made the switch to running back after transferring to Purdue in 2022. He's been a running back the last two seasons but his ability to play both spots makes him a versatile weapon. |

2024 NFL schedule strategy |
If you're aiming to steer clear of Byenado in 2024, Dave Richard's schedule strategy guide is must-read. He highlights Week 14 as the biggest Byenado, with six teams on bye compared to just two last year. The Ravens, Texans, Colts, Patriots, Broncos, and Commanders will all have the week off. Week 12 isn't much better, with the Falcons, Bills , Bengals, Jets, and Saints all on bye. |
|
Dave also predicts which teams will start strong based on their schedules. The Bengals, Bears, Packers, Bills, and Chargers are expected to get off to a great start. On the flipside, the Cowboys, Falcons, and Raiders may stumble out of the gate, according to Dave's analysis. |
