Grain Markets Post Higher Weekly Reversals Despite Disappointing Brazil Estimates: Will It Trigger a Bigger Rally?
 
With the exception of Chicago wheat, grain markets scored higher weekly reversals and closed above the 20-day moving average for the first time in weeks, according to Darren Frye, Water Street Solutions.
 
 
 
2023 Crop Production Déjà Vu? USDA's Latest Report Shows Brazil's Crop Isn't A Disaster, Despite Crippling Drought Early On
 
USDA cut its estimate for Brazil’s soybean production by 1 mmt, which was less than what the trade expected, to 155 mmt. There were no changes to Brazil’s corn production estimate of 124 mmt.

The economists surveyed for the February Ag Economists’ Monthly Monitor expect net farm income to decline to $117 billion in 2024. In comparison, USDA projects that number to be $121.7 billion. More than 40% of the economists expect interest rates to fall no more than 1% this year, and 44% are becoming more pessimistic about any interest rate cuts in 2024.
