Liebe Kollegin, erst krzlich traf ich Sabine Tschernow. Sie ist Vorstandssekretrin bei einem groen Getrnkehersteller. Sie erzhlte mir neben sehr interessanten anderen Dingen auch eine Geschichte aus ihrem Alltag, die mich zum Nachdenken bewog:
Sabine Tschernows Chef schickt ihr regelmig Excel-Tabellen mit scheinbar endlosen Zahlenkolonnen, die komplett unbersichtlich sind. Er erwartet von ihr, dass sie daraus Grafiken erstellt, die er dann in der Vorstandssitzung oder bei Kunden prsentieren kann. Und das soll schnell gehen. Am besten soll sie schon gestern damit fertig gewesen sein.
Frher ist Frau Tschernow daran schier verzweifelt: Tausende Spalten und Zahlen, die Sie erst einmal durchgehen muss, um sich einen berblick zu verschaffen. Vor Ewigkeiten hatte Sabine Tschernow mal einen Excel-Kurs belegt aber Vieles ndert sich ja stndig und sie konnte schlielich nicht alles im Kopf behalten… Wie sollte Sie also aus dem Chaos sinnvolle Grafiken erstellen? Sollte sie Balkendiagramme oder Kreisdiagramme whlen? Gibt es auch noch andere Darstellungsformen? Gibt es Tastaturkrzel, mit denen man Zeit und Mhe sparen kann?
Im Zweifel fragte sie erst einmal eine Kollegin oder einen Kollegen. Aber die hatten nicht immer Zeit und irgendwann wollte sie es dann auch alleine schaffen. Google ist auch eine Mglichkeit, aber wonach soll sie genau suchen? Im Internet gibt es dazu natrlich tausende Beitrge, nur das dauert ja auch wieder… Regelmig brach sie vor lauter Stress in Schweiausbrche aus.
Aber dann: Sabine Tschernow kam auf eine fr sie geniale Idee: Sie legte sich nach und nach ein kleines Excel-Kompendium an, zusammengestellt aus verschiedenen Beitrgen aus working@office. Sie legte eine Tabelle an und sortierte die Beitrge thematisch, damit sie einen berblick und Schnellzugriff auf alles hatte. Und pltzlich, ab einem Tag X ging alles viel schneller. Inzwischen behlt sie immer einen khlen Kopf, wird nun von Kolleginnen und Kollegen um Hilfe geben und nicht umgekehrt – und ihr Chef steht auch noch richtig gut da. Schweiausbrche bekommt sie jetzt nur noch beim Sport!
Wahnsinn, dachte ich mir, das ist eine super Idee und Erfolgsgeschichte. Bestimmt haben auch noch andere Kolleginnen und Kollegen im Office dasselbe Problem.
