Come out and experience jazz with the Lenore Raphael Trio in CAM's listening room, Weyerhaeuser Reception Hall on Thursday, Dec. 1 and then back to CAM on Friday Dec. 2 for a fun opening party for the new exhibit The Art of Illumination 2016 with Grenoldo Frazier in the cafe offering a range of tunes!
Drawing inspiration from traditional lantern festivals that mark the season's change and year's end, over forty artists created new and original hand-built lanterns. With the lanterns illuminating both the darkness of longer nights and the beginnings of the future, this exhibition will give rise to a shared experience of reflection and anticipation.

Floating Lantern Ceremony
Sunday, December 11, 4-7 pm
CAM welcomes you to attend this free public event where you may write or draw your love and gratitude for someone special onto a lantern or express your dreams and wishes for the future. Lanterns will then be floated on the museum pond in this moving ceremony. This outdoor activity will be accompanied by live music and refreshments for purchase. Proceeds from lantern purchases support CAM's ongoing educational programming.
Lantern sleeves will be available for sale for $12 each. Lantern messaging and decorating begins at 4 p.m. Floating begins at 5 p.m., continues until 7 p.m. More info here.
