The voters have spoken. What did they say?

To start, Massachusetts voters rejected a mandate to enact nurse-to-patient staffing ratios. However, with both supporters and detractors of the now-rejected law advocating for advances in patient safety, you can bet the discussion about nurse staffing isn't over.

Additionally, as my colleague John Commins writes, voters across the country favored initiatives and candidates that would expand Medicaid and preexisting condition coverage.

And, since we all might be a bit weary from the political hubbub, I've included a feature on an inspiring nurse leader who shares her advice on how to elevate the profession and the care bedside nurses provide.
