| Greetings from the Masters champ (and our newest cover star) |
I can’t tell you how cool it is to see this new Golf Digest issue come out. We did the cover instruction story and video right in the middle of what has been an unbelievable ride—the day before I went to Austin and ended up winning the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play to move to No. 1 in the world. And two weeks after that, I had a week you can’t prepare yourself to even dream about at the Masters.
|  | The cover story really is a slice of what life has been like for me. It's about the subtle adjustments I've made with my swing, strategy and attitude to take my game to the next level—and how to get some of that working for you and your scoring goals, too. What makes it even more special is that it was a total home game. We did the shoot at the course where I've been working with my coach, Golf Digest Teaching Professional Randy Smith, since I was 7 years old—Royal Oaks Country Club, in Dallas. I've been watching Randy work with tour players like Justin Leonard, Gary Woodland and Harrison Frazar since I was in elementary school, and the walls of his teaching bay are covered with the framed stories he's done with Golf Digest going back more than 20 years.
I want to keep this roll going for as long as I can, but I also need to decompress and recharge ahead of the PGA at Southern Hills—where I won the Big 12 title in 2015 and which happens to be one of my favorite courses in the world. I’ll spend some time practicing and really just enjoying being home.
