Greg Brooks speaks publicly

Former LSU safety Greg Brooks has taken his story national, telling "Good Morning America" of his allegations that LSU did not act fast enough in 2023 to figure out he was suffering from a brain tumor and that the surgeon who operated on that tumor was unqualified.

It's a difficult interview to watch as Brooks, who is currently cancer free, tells his story through slurred speech.

Whether LSU was negligent or not in the case of Brooks' health is for the courts to decide. What isn't in question is that Brooks' situation is tragic, struck down as he was in the peak of his health and athletic talents.

Back to the current LSU football team, which is expected to hire former Louisiana Tech quarterback and ex-Oklahoma State quarterbacks coach Tim Rattay as an offensive analyst in the coming days.

Coming off its best performance of the season, the LSU gymnastics team is heading back on the road this Friday to Alabama, hoping to start building on the kinds of consistently strong efforts that carried the Tigers to the 2024 NCAA championship. There's also a bit of good news on All-American Haleigh Bryant as she continues to try to make progress toward getting back in the lineup as an all-arounder.

Finally, the LSU women's basketball team is starting to find its range from the 3-point line, dropping nine treys on Mississippi State on Sunday in a 81-67 victory.

Is this a new, dangerous trend for the Tigers? They certainly think so.

Thank you, everyone, for reading and subscribing. We're going to keep bringing you the most comprehensive LSU, Saints (and this week, Super Bowl) coverage around. So please keep reading,

Scott Rabalais
