Good morning and thanks for joining us. Here's a look at some of our top headlines.
West Bank development: Jefferson Parish has long touted a large, undeveloped patch of land on the West Bank for growth, but there have been few takers in the decade since the nearby Huey P. Long Bridge was widened. Now, however, Atmos Energy is planning to build a new office for approximately 100 employees there, sparking hopes it could fuel more development. Blake Paterson has the story.
Women's scorecard: A new study finds that while Louisiana has made strides in providing preventative care to women, the state continues to see some of the worst health outcomes, including some of the highest rates of infant mortality, deaths surrounding pregnancy, preterm births, mental health problems and syphilis infections. Emily Woodruff has the details.
Unused funds: It's been years since New Orleans received millions of dollars through the federal American Rescue Plan, but many initiatives that needed funding have yet to see a dime. As Sophie Kasakove reports, City Council members are getting frustrated.
We've got plenty more news, entertainment and sports from The Times-Picayune here. Thanks for reading. Chad |
