[Editor's note: We'll be off tomorrow and Friday. Have a great Thanksgiving!] | | TechCrunch | More than half a million users have installed Android malware posing as driving games — from Google’s own app store. Lukas Stefanko, a security researcher at ESET, tweeted details of 13 gaming apps — made by the same developer — which were at the time of his tweet downloadable from Google Play. Combined, the apps surpassed 580,000 installs before Google pulled the plug. Anyone downloading the apps were expecting a truck or car driving game. Instead, they got what appeared to be a buggy app that crashed every time it opened. | | BetaNews | "Microsoft's update procedure for Windows 10 has been a little, er, wobbly of late. The Windows 10 October 2018 Update proved so problematic that it had to be pulled, and even the re-released version is far from perfect. Now it seems the cancer is spreading to Office. Having released a series of updates for Office 2010, 2013, and 2016 as part of this month's Patch Tuesday, Microsoft has now pulled two of them and advised sysadmins to uninstall the updates if they have already been installed," writes Mark Wycislik-Wilson. | | PCWorld | Now you can sign into your Microsoft Account using either Windows Hello biometric security or a physical security key, Microsoft announced. (You could already use the Microsoft Authenticator app for passwordless sign-on, as well.) The page for a compatible Yubico key says the passwordless authentication works on Outlook, Office, Skype, OneDrive, Xbox Live, Bing, the Microsoft Store, and Windows itself. That’s pretty much everywhere you’d use a Microsoft Account online. | | Mashable | Why should Black Friday be limited to just one day?
