The Half Six Fix: get your evening started with this thrilling concert

Enjoy the work of four great composers... and your evening's only just begun. That's the idea behind the Half Six Fix, an hour-long concert from the London Symphony Orchestra. A rousing show will send you off into the evening with plenty of time left for other plans.

This month's Half Six Fix is at the Barbican on 14 September, and carries the theme of French Connections. Renowned conductor Sir Simon Rattle will introduce the short works by French greats Berlioz, Ravel and Debussy, as well as a "Zen garden in sound" by Tōru Takemitsu, a Japanese composer heavily influenced by French music. Expect melodic waltzes, a "sonic whirlwind" and the virtuoso trombone of Peter Moore (youngest ever winner of BBC Young Musicians of the Year in 2008, when he was just 12).

We've got a 2-for-1 deal on tickets for this star-studded concert. Simply enter code 241HSF14 when prompted at the checkout (valid on all priced tickets). Single tickets are just £18, or as low as £10 for 'wildcard' tickets (where you could be seated anywhere in the house).
