ITB BERLIN CONVENTION

GENDER EQUALITY, GENERATION Z & HEALTH TOURISM

ITB Berlin Kongress
Outdoor and adventure holidays, wellness and medical tourism, inclusion and diversity: three thematic tracks at the ITB Berlin Convention analyse trends and target groups in key markets.

YOUTH, ADVENTURE & OUTDOOR TRACK

New developments in the adventure, outdoor, youth and student travel market will be the focus of a dedicated theme track on 8 March.

Industry insiders will analyse the segment against the background of the survived pandemic and growing sustainability requirements. A panel with David Chapman (General Director, WYSE Travel Confederation) will ask about the expectations of the customer market and discuss the travel and booking behaviour of Generation Z. Agathe Daudibon (EuroVelo Manager, European Cyclists' Federation) addresses the relevance of cycle tourism for travel companies and destinations. Shannon Stowell (CEO, Adventure Travel Trade Association) will show how tour operators and other service providers can make their offers more sustainable.

MEDICAL & WELLNESS TRACK

Trends and expectations after Corona will also be the topic at the events of the Medical Wellness and Health Track on 9 March.

Michael Altewischer (Managing Partner, Wellness-Hotels & Resorts) and Roland Fricke (Managing Partner, beauty 24) will present current study data and discuss the growing customer expectations of wellness and health offers after the end of the pandemic.
A panel including Patrick Torrent (Executive Director, Catalan Tourism Board) and Simone Zagrodnik (Executive Director, European Historic Thermal Towns Association) will analyse wellness offers in the context of German-speaking and European markets.

DIVERSITY & INCLUSION TRACK

Diversity and inclusion are the focus of another thematic track, which asks how the tourism industry can act more inclusively and fairly in the future.

Participants will analyse challenges in terms of gender equality, anti-racism and anti-discrimination and present selected best practice examples. Danielle D'Silva (Head of Sustainability, Booking.com), Hazel McGuire (General Manager UK & Ireland, Intrepid), Kasia Pankowska (CEO, hoteltreats) and Shruti Shibulal (CEO, Tamara Leisure Experiences) will discuss how gender justice in tourism can contribute to more climate protection.
