Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and restful break! As the semester begins to wind down and finals loom, come take a study break with us at the museum.

Be sure to head to HAM for the second annual Harvard Gallery Crawl on Wednesday, December 4. Begin the crawl at the museum at 2:30pm, and join fellow Harvard students in exploring arts spaces both familiar and unfamiliar across campus. More info here.

See below for some upcoming events, including a student-only Art Study Center seminar on December 4 (register here), and be sure to check our online calendar for a full list of what's coming up through reading period.

December 3
6-7:30pm

Twelve years after the Harvard Art Museums exhibition Gods in Color: Painted Sculpture of Classical Antiquity, research on color in Greek and Roman art continues to change our understanding of Classical art and to resonate in contemporary conversations about race and representation in the museum setting. In this talk, scholars Jennifer Stager and Sarah Derbew will share new research that compels us to take a fresh look at how we understand color in the ancient Mediterranean world.

Free admission, but seating is limited. Tickets will be distributed beginning at 5:30pm at the Broadway entrance.

December 6
2:30-3:30pm

Join us for an hourlong architectural tour of the Harvard Art Museums, led by Peter Atkinson, director of facilities planning and management.

Recognized in the National Register of Historic Places, the Harvard Art Museums are a dynamic laboratory for the arts where teaching and research unite with world-class collections.

Free with museums’ admission. This tour is limited to 15 people and tickets are required. Ten minutes before the tour, tickets will become available at the admissions desk.
