We made it! The semester is over, finals are wrapping up, and 2020 will soon be behind us. It's been a challenging year, but one of the things that has kept our spirits high is you. We hope you’ve found a bit of solace with HAM during these difficult times. Whether you've joined a virtual program, explored the collections online, or tried your hand at art-making, thank you for being part of our community!

Like you, we're going to take a short break, but we'll be back in a few weeks with more exciting programs, articles, and opportunities to engage with art. Wishing you a safe and healthy winter break. See you next year!

The Moment Before the Lights Went Out on the Rothkos

Listen to the Huntington Theatre Company's short audio play set HAM.

Two students recently shared with the Harvard Gazette their experiences in the new course "The Garden," in which our own Menschel Curator of Photography Makeda Best served as a guest faculty member.

Looking for some artistic inspiration over break? There's still time to check out the Student Print Rental Virtual Gallery. And don't forget to submit your reflections to share with fellow students!

From our Friends....

Calling all artists! Students, faculty, staff, and alums are all invited to participate in ARTS FIRST 2021: The Virtual World Tour. More info on ways to participate and submission deadlines can be found here.

Although our Collections Management team has plenty of experience moving large works of art in and out of the building, a 25-foot long fiberglass shark is probably not on their list. That accolade goes to the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, who recently installed a model from the movie Jaws. You can watch the installation video here. (Fun fact: HAM and the AMMP share the same architect - Renzo Piano!)

The Brooklyn Museum recently teamed up with Netflix for a virtual exhibition exploring the costumes from binge-worthy shows The Crown and The Queen's Gambit. Check out The Queen and The Crown here.
