Whether you're visiting us in person or online, we're glad to see you back! In celebration of everyone's return to campus, we're honoring one of Harvard's best known traditions, the Houses. In upcoming issues, we'll be sharing objects from our collections that resemble the mascots that represent each House. Up first is Winthrop's lion, inspired by the lion on the House shield, and shown here as an ancient terracotta sculpture excavated from Yorghan Tepe, Iraq. This ferocious feline is currently on view in the third floor galleries. Be sure to check them out the next time you're here!
