The boring victories are often the most satisfying; Lewis Hamilton was in cruise control in Qatar on Sunday, aided by title rival Max Verstappen’s grid penalty. As we saw with Mercedes chief Toto Wolff in Brazil, this time it was Red Bull boss Christian Horner’s turn to lose his cool, blaming a “rogue marshal” for waving the yellow flag that cost Verstappen his front row starting spot. It required an apology from Horner to the FIA, quite right too as all the marshals give their time freely to allow this sport to happen. The pendulum continues to swing in favour of Mercedes, with Verstappen’s lead down to eight points with two races to go. Don’t expect a smooth ride from here!
