Good morning and thanks for joining us. Here are some of today's top headlines.
Fischer in disrepair: Under pressure from residents and board members, the Housing Authority of New Orleans is working through a backlog of maintenance requests at the Fischer Development Neighborhood, which it operates near the the foot of the Crescent City Connection. Residents applaud the renewed attention to a development they say has been allowed to fall into disrepair. But they say there is still a lot of work to be done. Sophie Kasakove has the story.
Superintendent pay: Most school superintendents in Louisiana are paid about the same as the national average for comparably sized districts. But there are outliers, with some of them earn far more — or far less — than the average. Ashley White has the details.
Decadence parade: The Southern Decadence parade rolled Sunday in the French Quarter. Photographer Scott Threlkeld was there.
